Azure Backup supports backup of Write Accelerator enabled disks

Today, we are announcing the general availability of backup for Write Accelerator enabled disks. These disks are widely used by Azure customers with M-Series Virtual Machines (VMs) to improve the I/O latency of writes against Azure Premium Storage. Until now, as part of preview, Azure Backup has offered backup support for such disks to enrolled customers. With this general availability announcement, this support is available to all customers who configure Azure Virtual Machine Backup with disks enabled with Write Accelerator.

Ledger in Azure SQL Database

Ledger in Azure SQL Database allows you to enable cryptographic proof that a database has not been tampered with. Ledger in Azure SQL Database provides a solution for your centralized systems where strengthening trust between parties is required. You can enable ledger functionality on tables in your database and interact with them the same ways you would for any other tables. If even a single bit is altered in the database, the database verification process will detect and report the tampering.

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 government accelerator an industry-specific data model and building blocks fast-track the development of government business processes and applications in the areas of public finance, public health and social services, public safety and justice, and critical infrastructure.

It’s available as a standalone data model that partners can use and build on.

The government accelerator provides the following features to our partner and developer communities to use at government organizations and agencies:

  • Government-specific extensions to the Common Data Model (CDM) to include a data model to support government segments.

Troubleshooting mode for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint now in public preview

Troubleshooting mode is initiated by a single-use command that is created for a single device and is time bound (the window of time for troubleshooting mode is 3 hours). Once troubleshooting mode has expired, the security settings that were configured on the device prior to troubleshooting mode will be restored, and any new policies that were created by your security or IT admin during troubleshooting mode will be applied. (Such new policies are blocked during troubleshooting mode.)
