General availability: Azure Bastion IP based connection Azure Bastion now supports connectivity to Azure virtual machines or on-premises resources via specified IP address. When IP based connection feature is enabled, Azure Bastion can be used to RDP/SSH into an on-premises resource over ExpressRoute and Site-to-Site VPN. Azure Stack HCI single-node The new single-node Azure Stack HCI fulfills growing hybrid infrastructure needs in remote locations while maintaining the innovation of native integration with Azure Arc. Specifically, this new configuration offers flexibility to deploy the stack in smaller spaces and with less processing needs, optimizing resources while still delivering quality and consistency. AKS cluster extensionsLeverage a rich set of first party solutions on AKS using the cluster extension feature. This feature builds on top of the packaging components of Helm by providing an Azure Resource Manager driven experience for installation and lifecycle management of different Azure service capabilities on the Kubernetes cluster.

Azure Backup supports backup of Write Accelerator enabled disksToday, we are announcing the general availability of backup for Write Accelerator enabled disks. These disks are widely used by Azure customers with M-Series Virtual Machines (VMs) to improve the I/O latency of writes against Azure Premium Storage. Until now, as part of preview, Azure Backup has offered backup support for such disks to enrolled customers. With this general availability announcement, this support is available to all customers who configure Azure Virtual Machine Backup with disks enabled with Write Accelerator. Ledger in Azure SQL DatabaseLedger in Azure SQL Database allows you to enable cryptographic proof that a database has not been tampered with. Ledger in Azure SQL Database provides a solution for your centralized systems where strengthening trust between parties is required. You can enable ledger functionality on tables in your database and interact with them the same ways you would for any other tables. If even a single bit is altered in the database, the database verification process will detect and report the tampering. Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server Business Critical service tier The Azure Database for MySQL – Flexible Server Memory Optimized service tier is now called Business Critical. This service tier is equipped with better features and functionality and is best suited for tier 1 production workloads with high-performance transactional or analytical applications. The Business-Critical service tier allows you to achieve a 1.5x performance improvement over Single Server on the open source community MySQL. Your data is always secured and compliant with the latest minor and major version upgrades every 6 months. Azure Container AppsAzure Container Apps is a managed serverless container service which offers an ideal platform for application developers who want to run microservices in containers without managing infrastructure. Container Apps is built on a foundation of powerful open-source technology. Behind the scenes, every container app runs on Azure Kubernetes Service, with KEDA, Dapr, and Envoy baked in. This lets you perform modern application lifecycle tasks such as application upgrades, traffic shifting, and versioning ready-to-run for teams of every skillset. Dynamic concurrency in Azure FunctionsDynamic concurrency automatically determines optimal per trigger concurrency settings for your workloads and adjusts as your load patterns change over time. |

For some critical operations, it’s important to be able to re-prompt the user to ensure no one is “borrowing” their device or has stolen their tokens. That’s why we’re excited to announce the public preview of re-authentication support in Azure AD Conditional Access. Hunting for network signatures in Microsoft Defender for EndpointAs we continue to evolve our Microsoft 365 Defender capabilities to enable security teams to analyze enriched incidents with alerts and events from diverse sources, a critical factor is user feedback. After hearing our customers’ feedback, one of the core asks was around Defender for Endpoint providing deeper visibility into network traffic sources and destinations on protected endpoints. Troubleshooting mode for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint now in public previewTroubleshooting mode is initiated by a single-use command that is created for a single device and is time bound (the window of time for troubleshooting mode is 3 hours). Once troubleshooting mode has expired, the security settings that were configured on the device prior to troubleshooting mode will be restored, and any new policies that were created by your security or IT admin during troubleshooting mode will be applied. (Such new policies are blocked during troubleshooting mode.) Raising the Baseline Security for all Organizations in the WorldWe are excited to announce that we’re beginning the rollout of security defaults to existing Microsoft customers who haven’t yet rolled out security defaults or Azure AD Conditional Access. |
